The Old Town dances arrived in Dalmatia from the French court, and were danced exclusively in urban areas, for example in the cities of Trogir, Split, Korčula and Dubrovnik. Dance movements and interesting costumes reflect Western European and Mediterranean influences adapted to local social circumstances.
